Boarding

Northwest Horse Park is a boarding facility located at a once thriving dairy farm in the Orting Valley, just 10 miles from Puyallup, Graham, Bonney Lake and Sumner. 8 years in the making, we have transformed this prime agriculutal land into an almost complete full service horse park. This transition has been a lot of work, but with the location (2 miles from downtown Orting), fertile soils and adjacent to the trails, how could we not take on the challenge.  New Electrobraid fencing provides a safe place for your horse to run.  New custom made stalls give your horse a safe place to live.  And although we feel we will always be working on improving our full service horse park, your horse's safety will always be our #1 concern!

Northwest Horse Park was built based on the important the facility had ample room for horses to be 'horses'.  So rather than board them in a 12' x 12' stall causing numerous health and safety hazards, turnouts were designed to be 50 x 300 giving the horse room to run, socialize, and graze.  Living in the northwest, we all know dealing with our wetter climate can be a concern. Our line up has a 1200 foot road built to give owners a dry area to reach their horses.  Each shelter is built up with stall mats, 2 full walls and one half wall providing the ability to lock your horse in a shelter at night to keep them dry for a show or rehabilitation from injury if needed while letting the horse stay in the home they are familiar and comfortable with .  The front 30 feet of each shelter is built up with rock to keep the most traffic area dry however the remaining 270 feet of paddock is natural soil allowing the horse to live natually and chose their most comfortable place to be during their day.  Should stall boarding be the need of you and your horse, this is an option as well.  Like most places, your horse will never be left without shelter when needed.  Horses living area at NorthWest Horse Park are larger than most turn out areas at other facilities.  If the weather is not ride for pasture, horses are perfectly content in their 50x300 individual paddocks.  When pasture time is open, horses enjoy 5 to 10 acres of lush pasture as opposed to 25x75 of dry lots.

Nutrition also had to be the best as all horses at Northwest Horse Park are treated like 'our horses' and given the best feed for the nutritional plan and diet needed per horse. We provide the highest nutritional value forage for horses, purchasing only Eastern Washington hay year round.  Horses do receive ample pasture time on lush, thick pastures but their nutritional needs are met year round through quality hay.  Pasture grazing is monitored to ensure horses needs are monitored to ensure they don't get too much of a good thing.

For exercise and further socialization, horses have an 8 acre pasture, 10 acre pasture and 12 acre pasture, depending on the time of the year and the pasture rotation schedule resulting in horses that would not only benefit from the space and time, but the premium grasses planted in each pasture for clean and healthy forage.

Facilities needed to be abundant and available.  For that reason, Northwest Horse Park employs an 80' x 200' covered and lighted riding arena that is closed to the facility, three round pens for training and warmups (each strategically located on the ranch depending on usage needs), and an onsite trail system linking to hundreds of miles of nearby trails.  When your horse is boarded at Northwest Horse Park, you have no need to trailer.

Northwest Horse Park is a full service facility providing several boarding options.  Any service you need can be provided, however we have created several options with varying rates depending on your needs.  If you don't see the level of need you would like, we will make any accommodations necessary.

Ponies OR Young Horses:
Ponies boarded are given a reduced rate on board as they simply don't eat as much as a mature horse.  Young horses are not given this discount.  Why?  Even though they are smaller and should eat less, these horses (thru age 3) should be given as much quality forage as they can eat.  As well they should be receiving supplement as this is the biggest growth spurt.  We will provide these youngsters all the quality forage they need so they will be using as much hay (if not more due to waste) then a mature horse.

Stallions:
Stallions are welcome as boarders on an interview basis with the owner/ handler.  Breeding by boarded stallions is not allowed at our facility.  Stallions will be provided with special accommodations so as not to disturb other boarders.  Board rates are increased for stallion boarding.  Please contact us for further information.

Farrier Service:
We currently have Darri Leavitt servicing our farm providing every possible service you could require. Mr Leavitt has been in this profession for more than 20 years.  His skills are always current with new research yet supported by a lifetime of personal experience.  You are welcome to add your horse to our current farrier schedules or bring in a different farrier.
