Fresh Grass Pastures
July 29, 2011
Most have never seen the excitement in their horses eyes when it is time to head for the pasture. Prancing hooves, pert ears, and wide open eyes show their excitement to run and play with the herd. But play time isn't the only thing they are excited for... fresh grass tops the list.
With all the grumbling about our cold, damp summer there is one good thing... longer green pastures. The past several years, our pastures were burnt out by this time and just a hint of green in the fields. This year we still have active green grass growing everywhere. Mowing takes more time, but the horses love the results.
